high school ministry

Every other Sunday evening during the school year, our high school students gather in House Groups. Each House Group is hosted by a House Group leader. The first hour of each meeting begins with students gathering for dinner in the home. These medium-sized groups then participate in a group activity, challenge, or discussion. Both of these elements give the students an opportunity to get to know each other better, regardless of grade or gender. Small Group time is the focus of the final hour and is led by an adult leader. The curriculum allows for easy discussion on key parts of faith and debriefing questions for life. This time also provides the students a safe place to be in community and accountable to each other.
The current study is "Sharing Your Faith and Serving Others" by Jim Burns. Teens have a reputation of being self-absorbed and "all-about-me," but most of them care deeply about God and others. Together, we encourage and equip students to make a difference in the world by seeing others as Jesus sees them. Teens will learn how to use their gifts to serve others, how to lead peers with gentleness and compassion, and how to share their faith by being an encouraging and generous friend.
