At Journey, we hold sacred the following beliefs:
God - We believe there is only one true God who is eternal, all powerful, all knowing, just and loving. God created the world and is personally engaged in the lives of all humans.
Humanity - We believe every person is created by God and in the image of God, but through Adam's sin the race fell, and inherited an addiction to sin. Each person is broken, lonely, and separated from God. Even in this separation God cherishes each person, and is pursuing after them because God desires all to be in a relationship with Him.
Jesus - We believe God entered the world in human form in the person of Jesus Christ; being both fully human and completely God. Jesus is pursuing us, reconciling us with God by giving up his life as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, resulting in our forgiveness and acceptance before God.
Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit is God, indwelling presence in the follower of Jesus who enlightens us with God’s gifts and empowers us in a transformed life.
The Bible - We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired word of God, inerrant and God breathed which is used in navigating life.
Salvation - It's free. It is a gift of God that is received in faith through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sinfulness. No amount of good works, worship attendance, or religious activity can be done to earn a way into heaven. Instead, it is through faith in Jesus as the Savior all can be assured of eternity with God.
Church - We believe the church is the universal community of all Christ followers. The church are followers of Jesus who join with Him in the adventure of everyday life, enjoy learning from Him, and are choosing to love and influence people in their communities with Jesus' grace, mercy ,and forgiveness.
