The title of the book of Deuteronomy in Hebrew simply means “these are the words.” The book is largely filled with speeches from Israel’s leader, Moses. With the Promise Land in sight, Moses knew his death was coming soon; in this fifth and final book of the Pentateuch, he shares his final words with the people of Israel. Moses’ mission was simple and still speaks to us today: Let us prepare the next generation of Israelite's to live as faithful servants of The Lord, their God.
